Overview:

The Capital Markets Portfolio Management Analyst will be an integral member of the Capital Markets Risk Management team, which is responsible for underwriting and managing the risks associated with the capital markets division’s portfolio and ensuring compliance with CNB policies.  This position will support portfolio managers and underwriters within the second-line credit risk team to ensure the timely and effective management of risk, compliance, and performance tracking across credit facilities and investment activities.

The Capital Markets Portfolio Management Analyst will conduct key activities supporting post-close transaction and portfolio management, including tracking borrower deliverables, monitoring borrower performance, identifying emerging risks, and ensuring alignment with CNB's credit and risk management strategies. This role will contribute to the continuous evaluation of portfolio credit quality, performance trends, and compliance with loan covenants, while collaborating with senior risk officers and portfolio managers to drive risk mitigation efforts and support the successful execution of credit facilities and trades.

What You'll Do:

  • Track the receipt of required financial statements, covenant compliance certificates and other borrower deliverables under assigned financial sponsor portfolios, and follow up with sponsors on any items not received within required timeframes.
  • Provide timely reporting on late and missing items, and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain centralized database of key credit risk metrics across the portfolio.
  • Analyze and report on trends at borrower and portfolio level.
  • Assist with periodic evaluations (e.g., annual reviews) of the borrowers and facilities, including tracking performance metrics, identifying emerging risks, and recommending potential actions as needed.
  • Generate detailed reports and presentations on portfolio performance, risk exposure, and key metrics for senior management and stakeholders in the Capital Markets Risk organization.
  • Collaborate closely with relevant first line teams, such as origination and investment banking, to ensure seamless coordination with ongoing portfolio management activities.
  • Attend leading industry events on occasion (e.g., capital markets, structured finance, asset-backed securities, etc.).
  • Travel at least 10 to 20% of the time for meetings and industry events.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years experience working in a [regulated] financial institution, especially in a risk management function and/or with exposure to financial sponsors.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of capital markets, financial sponsors and/or structured finance, and eagerness to learn.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and specifically Excel, including advanced functions.

  • Ability to travel at least 10 to 20% of time as required.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, economics, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
