Overview:

The Corporate Banking Specialist provides operational and client service support to assigned Relationship Managers (RMs) by executing established processes related to loan approval, loan closing, deposit accounts, client onboarding, servicing, and regulatory requirements. The role collects and processes documentation, monitors loan status from post-approval through disbursement, coordinates with internal and external partners, responds to client inquiries, and provides timely status updates to Relationship Managers and clients regarding loan activity, service requests, and identified issues.

What You'll Do:

  • Provides operational and client service support to Relationship Managers in maintaining the Corporate Banking portfolio and assigned client relationships.
  • Performs established client service and follow-up activities that contribute to client satisfaction and retention.
  • Coordinates documentation, follow-up activities, and internal requests associated with prospective and new client relationships.
  • Supports new and existing Bank clients and coordinates with internal and external contacts to address technical issues, service requests, and questions related to Bank and Corporate Banking services.
  • Collects, organizes, and reviews financial and credit-related information for completeness and provides the information to Relationship Managers for analysis and decision-making.
  • Processes and follows up on loan servicing requests, including advance payments, paydowns, copies of invoices and statements, billing-related matters, insurance, escrows, and flood insurance.
  • Collects, prepares, and processes documentation for loan applications, renewals, modifications, closings, and ongoing loan maintenance in accordance with established requirements.
  • Serves as a point of contact for assigned client service and documentation needs and performs the following:
  • Collects and reviews required documentation for new loan applications, renewals, and modifications.
  • Uploads required loan documentation into DocMan within established timeframes.
  • Collects and verifies applicant information, including income, employment history, credit information, and other required documentation.
  • Completes customer profiles, CIP, and ownership information in Elevate.
  • Performs list checks, OFAC checks, and Google searches and submits KYC documentation for RM review and attestation or approval within the applicable systems.
  • Coordinates with the Legal Department regarding post-prescreening requirements and engagement approvals.
  • Coordinates with loan closers, legal counsel, and other internal departments on behalf of the RM, provides status updates, and escalates issues requiring review or resolution.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to loan applications, approvals, renewals, and modifications.
  • Coordinates with the RM, PRO, and other relevant parties involved in the loan approval and closing process.
  • Collects documentation identified on the loan closing checklist for new loans, modifications, and renewals.
  • Updates the RM dashboard and pipeline with current information and status changes.
  • Creates opportunities in the applicable system and coordinates payoffs, releases, and fee-waiver submissions.
  • Follows up to confirm that loans are properly booked, required waivers are in place, proceeds are properly disbursed, and required financial-statement ticklers are established.
  • Monitors assigned loan portfolio activity, including payment schedules, and completes required follow-up regarding delinquent accounts.
  • Completes follow-up activities for ticklers, maturing loans, minimum deposit requirements, and covenants and escalates unresolved or non-routine matters.
  • Follows applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies governing lending activities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of lending products, processes, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements by completing assigned training and reviewing available updates.
  • Completes assigned Regulatory Excellence and First Client Contact activities, including:
  • Collecting missing information and other required documentation related to loan and deposit accounts.
  • Completing BSA and RFI requests within established timeframes, including EDD and KYC updates, PO Alerts, OFAC matters, High-Risk Reviews, and other assigned requests.
  • Completing Regulatory Excellence Consultant findings requests within the established timeframe.
  • Performing follow-up activities related to client onboarding and maintenance requests using applicable system reports.
  • Monitoring and following up on loan and deposit pipelines, funding, Treasury Management implementation, post-closing items, ticklers, covenants, minimum deposit requirements, and KYC status.
  • Escalating unresolved, exceptional, or non-routine matters to the direct supervisor.
  • Completing Reg E disputes and other assigned items as directed by the Loan or Risk Department.
  • Handles and processes assigned client requests and inquiries related to deposit accounts, including:
  • Completing new account packages and submitting them to the New Account Request Team for processing.
  • Submitting account maintenance cases.
  • Submitting deposit and loan research requests.
  • Monitoring submitted requests and completing required follow-up.
  • Reviews and completes the appropriate disposition of exception items from Deposit Operations and the Non-Post database related to assigned clients, escalating unresolved matters as appropriate.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable Bank products and services, completes assigned training, and participates in internal training as required.
  • Identifies potential client needs during service interactions and refers opportunities involving lending, Treasury Management, Wealth Management, or other Bank products and services to the Relationship Manager or appropriate department.
  • Monitors loan application status and related activity and communicates updates to Relationship Managers regarding issues, renewals, past-due items, and pipeline activity.
  • May be assigned a primary focus in loan-related activities or account opening and completes cross-training to provide backup coverage as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in corporate banking or financial services support role.
  • Working knowledge of banking products, loan and deposit processes, regulatory requirements, and credit standards.
  • Familiarity with loan and deposit systems and financial documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support Relationship Managers and coordinate routine to moderately complex loan closings, amendments, modifications, and servicing activities with internal and external Bank partners.
  • Ability to review documentation for completeness, follow established procedures, meet deadlines, and escalate complex or non-routine matters appropriately.

Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
