Overview:The Data Architect & Database Manager is primarily responsible for the system architecture including components related to data structure, user interface, and middleware and design major aspects of the different banking applications in support of the respective departments. Needs to be creative, analytical thinker who can not only lead a team of database specialists but also effectively communicate, plan information system strategy and support key strategic projects. Assists IT managers in analyzing the user's needs and requirements. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
What You'll Do:
- Works closely in the recruitment and selection process, such as conducting and providing feedback from interviews, recruiting within the budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and ensuring proper departmental specifics for on-boarding.
- Provides timely feedback to employees (check-ins, reports, annual evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary action).
- Development of high potential employees, identifying, providing growth opportunities with training, meeting inclusion, shadowing, etc., in conjunction with the Center for Professional and Organizational Development.
- Ensuring assignment and accomplishment of goals holding employees accountable, measuring results cross training, and eliciting innovation and process improvement.
- Maintaining employee motivation engagement & recognition.
- Inspiring employee commitment and integrity, modeling-cultural values and positive behaviors.
- Managing over-time control in a timely manner, within the requirements of FLSA standards.
- Ensuring, regulatory excellence in all aspects of employee responsibilities by monitoring regulatory expectation specific to each report and holding employees accountable to their specific regulatory responsibilities.
- Supports and maintains databases, interfaces and DW/BI associated with various banking platforms & auxiliary applications.
- Ensures that uniform enterprise wide application design standards are maintained.
- Provides technical leadership to the database specialist and BI resources.
- Is responsible for analyzing conditions, problems, products, and systems affecting the Fiserv’s core (Premier) banking applications, producing reports and file extracts.
- Assists IT managers in analyzing the user’s needs and requirements. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Supports and maintains the core system tables as it relates to interfaces, or equivalent system administration functions (Windows based applications) of different banking and business applications to include but not limited to, Fiserv Premier, CRM and core applications, BSA (AML), and ECM (Electronic Content Management).
- Coordinates the necessary resources to support product implementation and project management.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Work closely with the entire staff to ensure that all user needs are met in a timely manner.
- Ensures audit trails are kept of all changes and notifies Change Control Committee of any changes deployed in the production environment.
- Respond to all work related communications(letters,email,andvoice-mail)in a timely manner.
- Analyze database implementation methods to make sure they are in line with company policies and any external regulations that may apply
- Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database by using industry standard best practices and adhering to the organization’s requirements
- 5-7 years experience in database software (SQL, Oracle, MS Reporting Services, SharePoint, ETL structure) and DB2 reporting development and working libraries
- 5-7 years experience in banking applications management and query creation
- 5-7 years experience in SQL, Oracle, .Net data mining, development, and maintenance: working experience with core systems such as the iSeries, data warehouse and BI tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various people of both technical and non-technical nature
- Knowledge of Fiserv core banking system is a plus
- Proficient with database development and maintenance tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational, evaluation and problem analysis skills.
- Flexibility to work in any location within the City National Bank network and if necessary after-hours.
- Good background in program analysis, development, and testing skills.
- A high level understanding of contemporary hardware and software architectures including capacity planning based on database performance and trending utilization.
- Desktop and Server OS proficient in Microsoft and Oracle applications.
- Bachelor's Degree technical certification (Microsoft, Oracle), or experience in computer technology, communications or related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
