Overview:

The Business Data Quality Analyst is responsible for carrying out routine, process-based tasks that support the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of critical business data. This data supports strategic decision-making, client outcomes, and regulatory compliance within banking operations. Working under general supervision, the Analyst assists various departments by monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on data related to sales performance, client risk profiles, and data governance activities. This role helps reinforce high data quality standards through consistent execution of data validation and support functions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review sales and risk data to support quality across key areas such as pipeline metrics, KYC, credit exposure, and compliance reporting.
  • Apply established data quality rules, KPIs, and standards in line with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform data profiling, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation activities to detect and report data inconsistencies.
  • Support Data Stewards and cross-functional teams (Sales, Risk, Compliance, IT) in identifying root causes of data issues and tracking corrective actions.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining data dashboards and basic reports to display data quality trends and metrics.
  • Participate in data checks for audits, regulatory submissions, and internal projects by verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain documentation of data lineage, metadata, and routine quality control procedures to meet audit standards.
  • Follow defined data quality processes and contribute to the rollout of governance practices as directed.
  • Provide input on improving data entry, storage, and validation processes in collaboration with business and IT staff.
  • Support training efforts by sharing documented standards and answering routine data quality questions from users.
  • Coordinate with data engineering and analytics teams to verify dataset accuracy and completenes.

Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in data quality, data governance, or business/data analysis in banking or financial services.
  • Experience using SQL to perform data validation, queries, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with sales and risk-related data sets, including CRM data, credit exposure, and compliance metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail when reviewing and validating data.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.

Education:

Acceptable qualifications include a combination of education and relevant professional experience. Educational backgrounds in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related disciplines are beneficial.
