Overview:The Commercial Banker Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Banker(s) portfolio by providing strategic production support to the sales staff. This position is responsible for developing training templates and resources that enhance the effectiveness of the producing representatives. The associate collaborates with Commercial Bankers to identify and secure new Commercial Banking relationships and revenue sources while contributing to the retention of existing clients. This role requires a proactive approach to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency within the team, ensuring the overall success of the commercial banking efforts.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consistently meets and exceeds individual and team goals, including but not limited to deposits, loans, and other applicable metrics, demonstrating a strong focus on business outcomes.
- Independently expands existing relationships and solicits new business through client referrals and proactive outreach, aligning efforts with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
- Provides strategic support to the Commercial Banker (RM) portfolio, ensuring a seamless client experience and contributing to overall portfolio performance.
- Reviews and analyzes relationship assessments to enhance client retention and support the achievement of sales goals, employing analytical skills to drive decision-making.
- Analyzes complex financial information to assess a borrower’s creditworthiness, making informed recommendations that impact lending decisions.
- Acts as a consultant to prospects, clients, and Commercial Bankers, developing and implementing tailored products and solutions that address specific client needs and drive revenue.
- Conducts comprehensive client analyses and contributes to the generation of proposals, applying critical thinking to ensure alignment with client objectives and market trends.
- Independently researches, designs, and implements innovative products and services that meet market demands and enhance client satisfaction.
- Engages with new and existing bank clients to address service requests and inquiries, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues related to commercial banking services, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Completes necessary credit training programs to enhance knowledge and skills, staying informed about industry standards and best practices.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies, demonstrating initiative in problem-solving and contributing to team success.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, reflecting a commitment to the organization’s goals and objectives.
- 2-4 years experience in a commercial banking or financial services role, with a proven track record in client relationship management and business development.
- Proficient in analyzing complex financial data and credit information to assess risk and make informed recommendations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating empathy and responsiveness to client needs.
- Ability to identify issues proactively and develop innovative solutions, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.
- Understanding of commercial banking products, services, and market dynamics, enabling effective consultation with clients.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Familiarity with banking software and financial analysis tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, contributing to shared goals and supporting team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Credit Analyst certification) are a plus.
