The Credit Portfolio Analyst is responsible for supporting Credit Line Increase Analytics and Strategy. Design and execute analytical recommendations to support strategic business initiatives within the Credit Strategy Team.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert for the Global Credit Risk Strategy.
- Constantly innovate; test and learn experimentation to improve credit underwriting throughout the customer lifecycle - this means you will be hands-on the development and design of the Acquisitions strategies (pre-screen underwriting, line assignments, pricing) as well as the ongoing Account Management strategies (Credit Limit Increase, Decrease, Payment Open to Buy), as well as evaluating the effectiveness of Collections and Recovery strategies.
- Use analytical techniques to develop insights from historical loan performance data, identify swap-in opportunities to underwrite new customer populations, and develop better credit solutions to our existing customer base, with a keen eye toward the expected vs. actual Risk-Adjusted Returns produced.
- Analyze opportunities for new product opportunities and provide analytical support for prioritization decisions and ultimately the growth strategy for the company.
- Develop economic value simulations to estimate/assess the impact of strategy changes on customer product segments and advise the Treasury team on performance assumptions and projected yield.
- Design and deploy risk monitoring frameworks to assess the performance of partner underwriting portfolios, new product launches and existing customer portfolios, and advise senior management of emerging trends and risks.
- Partner with the Legal, Compliance and Credit Governance team to ensure all strategies and policies are accurately documented and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors and technology teams to ensure new strategies and models are implemented accurately and as designed.
- Conduct other ad hoc analyses as required to support the Credit Team's goals.
- 5+ years of experience in credit risk, preferably in the consumer credit industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with solid business acumen.
- Exceptional written and communication skills, and ability to explain complex insights to a range of audiences.
- Self-driven, with intense focus on results.
- Strong team player and comfortable interacting with partners across areas and at varying levels of seniority.
- Strong technical skills such as SAS, SQL, R/Python, and ability to independently access and analyze relational data sets.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical analysis techniques, customer segmentation and credit bureau data.
- Experience with automated decision engine software, including strategy and custom scorecard implementations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Bachelor's Degree with a quantitative background (e.g. Statistics, Math, Economics, Finance).
