Overview:

The DevOps Engineer Senior is responsible for optimizing development and operational workflows, ensuring efficient integration across technology platforms. This role involves designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and automating processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and security. The DevOps Engineer Senior works on key initiatives such as cloud migration and legacy system modernization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

The role also ensures compliance with regulatory standards and involves exercising discretion and independent judgment in both technical decision-making and strategic planning. Additionally, the position requires advanced technical expertise and specialized knowledge to manage complex systems, develop and maintain automation tools, and lead efforts to modernize infrastructure in alignment with business goals.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes, leveraging specialized technical knowledge to optimize the software deployment lifecycle.

  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure, to ensure scalability, performance, and security, utilizing advanced expertise in cloud technologies.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Ansible, demonstrating advanced knowledge of automation and infrastructure management.

  • Monitor production systems and deployment pipelines, ensuring high availability and rapid issue resolution through advanced technical troubleshooting and system optimization.

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to integrate DevOps best practices across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), applying specialized knowledge of both development and operations processes.

  • Automate repetitive tasks to enhance team productivity and reduce operational overhead, applying expertise in software and system automation.

  • Develop and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve system issues, leveraging advanced skills in system monitoring and fault management.

  • Ensure all systems and processes comply with SDLC, regulatory, and security standards, demonstrating thorough knowledge of applicable technical standards and compliance requirements.

  • Lead efforts to modernize legacy systems, aligning with cloud-first strategies and enterprise goals, utilizing expert-level knowledge of cloud migration and legacy system integration.

  • Act as a technical mentor for junior DevOps engineers, conducting code reviews and sharing best practices, demonstrating leadership in technical knowledge transfer.

  • Document technical workflows, standards, and processes to support knowledge sharing and team alignment, ensuring consistency in the application of technical practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, such as Elevate and nCino platform optimization, contributing advanced technical insights to strategic business projects.

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity, applying expert knowledge in system resilience and recovery processes.

  • Research and evaluate new DevOps tools and technologies to continuously improve processes and infrastructure, demonstrating continuous learning and application of cutting-edge technology solutions.


Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of Industry experience with a minimum of 7+ years of experience developing on the Java Platform or .NET. 5+ years of experience with IaC (Terraform, ARM or equivalent).
  • 2-4 years in using Azure, Azure CLI, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Shell scripting and Azure DevOps.
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.

  • Extensive experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly in Azure; familiarity with AWS or GCP is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

  • Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and management.

  • Strong skills in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for process automation.

  • Expertise in system monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) and log management for performance optimization.

  • In-depth understanding of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOC, PCI DSS, ISO).

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.

  • Excellent ability to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and system administrators.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, including the ability to document workflows, standards, and technical processes effectively.

  • Proven ability to mentor junior team members, lead initiatives, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly learning new technologies or processes.

  • Ability to align DevOps solutions with organizational goals, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation.

  • Familiarity with financial industry standards and compliance requirements is highly preferred.


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or in a related field.
