The FX & Derivatives Trading Officer is responsible for executing and managing foreign exchange and interest rate derivative transactions, including FX spot, forwards, non-deliverable forwards, cross-currency swaps, interest rate swaps, and options. This role supports the bank’s trading and hedging activities, with a focus on US and Latin American corporate and financial institution clients. The Officer will contribute to pricing and structuring derivative products, managing trading book exposures, and optimizing liquidity through strategies such as Nostro account arbitrage. The role also involves resolving reconciliation issues with operational teams and ensuring accurate post-trade support. This position requires strong technical proficiency with financial tools (Bloomberg, Derivative Path, Finzly), along with a solid understanding of regulatory risk metrics (SA-CCR, PFE, CVA), and margin requirements. The Officer will provide market commentary and support client coverage efforts, ensuring solutions aligned with both client needs and internal risk frameworks.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Originate, structure, and execute tailored hedging solutions and strategies to meet specific client needs.
- Advise clients on managing macro market exposures across interest rates, foreign exchange, and credit derivatives.
- Analyze derivative pricing models, prepare client-facing materials, and evaluate company financial statements to identify and recommend strategies.
- Ensure compliance with ISDA documentation, CSAs, and all relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Develop creative solutions while staying informed of market trends and structural opportunities to meet client requirements in accordance with desk policies.
- Support the development of a robust FX platform that enhances transaction efficiency and profitability for clients.
- Collaborate with business lines to help shape new products and vertical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Prepare proposals, pitchbooks, and presentations to clients regarding corporate derivative solutions.
- Represent the firm at industry events (e.g., derivatives, FX) to maintain industry knowledge and strengthen relationships.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and emerging opportunities that impact the bank's strategy.
- Travel occasionally to meet with clients and support business development.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in derivatives and FX products, providing guidance to internal teams and clients.
What you Bring:
- 3-5 years of proven experience in capital markets with a direct focus on Global Markets, including foreign exchange (FX), interest rate derivatives, and fixed income products.
- Knowledge of interest rate derivatives, foreign exchange (FX), and fixed income products, including their direct marketing strategies.
- Skill in derivatives sales, particularly with corporate clients, with the ability to structure and execute complex transactions.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, macroeconomics, fixed income products, interest rate curve construction, derivative valuation, pricing methodologies, and hedging strategies.
- Skills in Risk Management (Sa-CCR, PFE, CVA, IM/VM)
- Knowledge of trade reconciliations and operational support
- Ability to remain highly organized and detail-oriented, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply basic financial modeling techniques to assess derivatives and financial solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with investors, clients, and financial partners.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- CFA or FRM designation preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
