Overview:

Responsible for processing and documenting all consumer, commercial, and small business, as well as certain condominium loans and real estate loan transactions, as well as certain loan modification documents for all Lending Divisions, including but not limited to general administrative duties relating thereto.  Serves as a Leader and coordinates work flow and support functions of subordinates to ensure production levels and deadlines are met and the Bank's strategic business objectives are achieved in an efficient and effective manner.  Performs pre-funding, post-closing reviews and booking of loans. Verifies collateral. Interfaces with division/department staff in the prompt resolution of problems related to loan documentation and processing.  Provides client service/support to Loan Originators.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accuracy and timely completion of loan documents, as determined by the department supervisor.

  • Produces and/or reviews loan documents prepared by Loan Documentation Specialists, as determined by the department supervisor.

  • Assembles and barcodes loan documentation files.

  • Reviews pre-requisite requirements are adhered to prior to preparing loan documents (due diligence, UCC-1 searches, corporate searches, proper lending authority, collateral, etc.).

  • Works independently in the preparation of loan documentation for all loan types (i.e., consumer, commercial, commercial real estate and home equity lines of credit), including interaction with attorneys and/or title agents to handle real-estate secured transactions, review of title searches and title commitments prior to closing, resolution of title issues, review of HUD-1 Settlement Statements, preparation of escrow letters and responsibility for ascertaining proper conditions for funding.

  • Requests, reviews and ascertains appropriate insurance coverage for all loan types.

  • Places “Hold” on CD’s and Repo’s pledged as collateral.

  • Conducts post-closing review of loans documented in the Loan Documentation Department to ensure documentation requirements are adhered to prior to booking, as determined by the department supervisor.

  • Performs pre-funding review prior to funding, as determined by the department supervisor.

  • Prepares files for scanning and subsequent review and/or booking by Loan Operations and monitoring by Loan Services and Collateral Control.

  • Creates and maintains records for pending documentation exceptions.

  • Provides client service/support to Loan Originators.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Functions efficiently and effectively under deadlines and stress while maintaining a professional and mature demeanor.

  • Good working knowledge of compliance issues as they relate to consumer loans, commercial loans, condominium loans, and commercial real estate loans.

  • Strong client service ethic and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Capacity to evaluate and prioritize tasks-at-hand.

  • Serves as backup to Loan Documentation Supervisor.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret information and situations and find solutions.

  • Attends to other miscellaneous administrative functions as determined by the department supervisor.


Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years experience with preparation of loan documentation for various loan types.
  • Experience with automated loan documentation prep systems.

  • Preferred experience with both LaserPro and attorney-drafted loans.

  • Established knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies relating to loan documentation.

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and effective problem resolution skills.

  • Proven ability to work productively and efficiently without direct supervision.

  • Able to manage high volume of activity and maintain production goals.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, cohesive, and cooperative team environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with customer, coworkers and third parties.

  • Ability to provide professional support and present a positive image within the department, between the all divisions, and throughout the bank.

  • Competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications and email, and various windows based software applications.


Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
