Residential Mortgage Loan Closer
Workplace Policy FT Remote Job ID 2024-5177 Date posted 11/22/2024Primary responsibility is to ensure the closing of residential mortgage loans (including conventional purchases/refinances; and construction loans) and the distribution of loan proceeds. Ensures service quality standards for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness are met. Performs pre-funding and post-closing reviews. Adheres to the bank's residential loan procedures and investor's loan and documentation policies and guidelines.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares and audits closing documents in a timely manner.
Ensures the data on processing/closing system is accurate.
Communicates with escrow/title companies, loan originators, and other parties to ensure all conditions and regulatory requirements are met before funding.
Receives and obtains approval of all title requirements such as Title Commitment, CPL, E & O, etc.
Review signed closing documents to approve the funding of the loan.
Prepares for the disbursement of funds as per the terms of the transaction.
Review funding reports to ensure loans are funded within appropriate timeframes.
Ensures the proper and timely processing of all loans.
Assists in shipping residential loans to investors (Flagstar).
Assists with post-closing review of all loans to ensure documentation requirements are adhered to.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of and ensure adherence to all conventional and government mortgage closing procedures, guidelines, regulations, and processes, and ensure compliance with requirements under TRID.
- 5-7 years experience in residential mortgage loan closing.
General knowledge of loan documentation and post-closing review.
Knowledge of collateral control, loan servicing requirements, compliance and secondary markets.
Familiar with the bank’s regulatory guidelines for consumer and residential lending.
Basic knowledge of mortgage loan (FNMA) requirements and guidelines.
Ability to organize and manage a large pipeline of loans.
Must be detail oriented;
Solid organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under pressure of deadlines and time restraints.
Ability to work cohesively and efficiently in a team environment.
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
