Overview:

The Loan Production Assistant (LPA) supports the Loan Origination Activities of a Mortgage Banking Officer or a team of Mortgage Banking Officers. The LPA should be focused on providing loan level and marketing support to ensure mortgage applications are complete and prepared for submission to Operations.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Takes and reviews Mortgage applications for accuracy on behalf of the MBO or MBO team.
  • Communicates initial requirements list to clients.
  • Assembles documentation based on client application information to support loan data
  • Updates referral sources on loan status.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact to clients for the loan process.
  • Conducts pipeline meetings with Operations staff to ensure timely completion of loan process.
  • Assists with marketing efforts for MBO or MBO team including distribution of marketing collateral, appointment setting, meeting follow up communication and any other activities required to support the sales efforts.
  • Meets the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and expected to follow procedures including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.

Qualifications:
  • 2 years experience in mortgage sales support or processing role with in-depth knowledge of lending requirements and the lending process.
  • Current product knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional and other loan programs.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of federal and state guidelines, rules and regulations such as RESPA, TILA, HMDA, etc.

  • Familiarity with mortgage process and mortgage documents.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Encompass loan software experience (preferred).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Word and Excel.

  • Excellent disposition, mindset, and work ethic.

  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong listening, problem solving skills and out of box thinking.

  • Ability to produce a high volume of work within tight deadlines.


Education:
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Required
